Runners get the blues for Age Cymru

Hundreds of fun runners will take to the streets of Newcastle Emlyn for the annual 5k charity run.

The event on Friday 16th June is being organised by Wales & West Housing’s staff in Newcastle Emlyn to raise money for the organisation’s nominated charity Age Cymru.

Runners are invited to wear blue or fancy dress to show their support for the charity, which works to improve the lives of older people in Wales.

All races start from our Cwrt y Llan office in Newcastle Emlyn and take a route around the village and castle area. The children’s races start at 6:30pm with the adult 5k and team race beginning at 7pm. Registration opens at 5.30pm. There will be prizes for the best fancy dress.

Wales & West Housing Chief Executive Anne Hinchey said: “The 5k fun run has been running for many years in Newcastle Emlyn and is popular with families. This year we are encouraging everyone taking part to wear blue or fancy dress to show their support for the marvellous work Age Cymru does."

“It’s great to see our residents, staff and the wider community getting fit, having fun and raising money for charity.”
