Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan

Work has started on our latest extra care scheme, a development of 70 self-contained apartments in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.

It is our first extra care scheme in South Wales and will have many of the facilities similar to our existing schemes in Aberystwyth, Holywell, Prestatyn, Mold and Newtown.

The £20m scheme is being built in partnership with Vale of Glamorgan Council on a 3.6-acre site near Myrtle Close, next door to Oak Court, our existing older persons’ housing scheme, and Tŷ Dewi Sant, a dementia-friendly care home operated by the local authority.

About Penarth, Extra Care

At Penarth extra care residents will be able to live independently in their own homes within a caring, supportive community.

The apartments are being designed to be energy efficient to keep utility bills affordable for residents.

The scheme will provide a range of facilities and 24-hour on-site care and support. It is scheduled to complete in 2026.
