De-carbonisation of homes
Wales & West Housing Group works in conjunction with Welsh Government and their partners to support ambitions to achieve ‘net zero’ emissions by 2050 by improving the energy performance of homes. As such we may share your name and address with the Welsh Government and its partners in relation to these projects.
Intelligent Energy Systems (IES) gather data about the energy used in your home. They aim to understand the performance of the systems in reducing energy consumption. Where you reside in a property which has already been fitted with an IES, or if your property needs to be fitted with an IES; it is often part of a Welsh Government grant funded project. In order to meet conditions of any Welsh Government grant that we have obtained to improve the energy performance of the property, we will share your contact details with Welsh Government’s service providers as part of their initiatives (such as the Optimised Retrofit Programme) in order to achieve ‘net zero’. The data collected by the IES is about the property and will not be linked back to your personal data. The data will only be used to provide statistical information to Welsh Government.
You may be offered additional services from the providers in charge of operating the IES, for example to get further support for you in managing your energy consumption and bills. Entering into such agreements for these additional services is entirely your choice and your agreement would be with the provider.
