County Lines / Cuckooing
County Lines is a term where organised crime groups or gangs from urban areas such as London, Birmingham and Liverpool extend their drug dealing across county boundaries – known as running a ‘county line’. These gangs often target young people, children or vulnerable adults to deliver their drugs. Sometimes these dealers will take over the home of a vulnerable person, using it as a local base to sell and take drugs – known as cuckooing. Have you noticed more people coming and going to an address of a person you believe to be vulnerable? Call 999 if someone is in immediate danger or a crime is taking place. Call 101 if you suspect this activity is happening in your community. If you prefer to remain anonymous you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
