Tidy Trevor!
Well done to Trevor who is taking the lead to brighten up the gardens at St Clements Court, Cardiff.
He volunteered to paint the raised beds at the scheme ready for summer. Not content with just that, he’s now carrying on renovating the garden fences.
“Trevor has been a great help. He’s really taken a pride in where he lives,” says Community Development Officer Claire Ashby.
Residents welcome the High Sheriff of South Glamorgan
High Sheriff South Glamorgan Janey Howells dropped in for a coffee morning with residents at Oakmeadow Court, Cardiff.
She was invited by one of the newer residents, the Reverend David Kellen. Rev Kellen moved to the scheme after retiring as the vicar at St. Mellons Church, where he served for 40 years. On his retirement he was approached by the High Sheriff to be her personal chaplain.
In return, he invited her to visit the scheme, where residents enjoyed morning coffee and cakes and learned about the High Sheriff’s duties which include attending royal visits in the county and supporting His Majesty’s High Court Judges.
Folk Tales in Prestatyn
Beddgelert, Welsh dragons and stories of friendship and family brought together two generations in Prestatyn, North Wales.
Pupils from Prestatyn High School and residents at Nant y Môr extra care scheme supported each other over a series of weeks to create poetry and prints under the guidance of RAW-i Studios, local artists Wendy Connelly and Robin Bailey.
The project, called Folk Tales, was designed to allow both groups to experience the benefits of creativity and the creative process.
