Easter round up
With warmer weather, lighter evenings and a two-week break for many, there were plenty of Easter activities for communities to get involved with in North, South and West Wales.
Residents of our Golwg Y Castell estate and Barcud’s Awel yr Afon in Cardigan braved the rain to search for 20 clues in their Pentop Easter Treasure Hunt. The event was organised in conjunction with Cardigan Community Partnership.
Rhiannon Ling, Community Development Officer for Wales & West Housing, said:
“We are working closely with the residents and have organised further events during school holidays. These are invaluable for the families living here as it gives them something to look forward to and helps create a sense of community spirit.”
In Buckley, North Wales, there was a Spring Clean supported by Keep Wales Tidy, Keep Flintshire Tidy, Flintshire Council and local councillors.
Numerous items including litter, bikes and a shopping trolley were cleared from an area of woodland next to Powell Road in the Flintshire town.
In Wrexham families enjoyed a nature-themed event at Hightown Community Resource Centre, run by Groundwork North Wales to encourage awareness of the environment. Activities included colouring, board games, quizzes and creating a butterfly collage – decorating the outline of a butterfly using leaves collected from outside.
Drumming workshops from Tanio brought children and their parents together at Brackla Easter Fun Day in Bridgend. The event was organised by our partners Employability Bridgend and included craft workshops.
